Remembrance Day 2025

A group of around forty people gathered at the Veterans’ Memorial in down-town Brandon to remember and honour veterans.

Rev. Dr. Glen Ball said a prayer for all veterans and for world peace. Major (R) Chuck LaRocque recited “In Flander’s Fields” a poem written by LCol John McCrae during World War I. CWO (R) Ernie Sowiak recited the “Ode of Remembrance”, the fourth stanza of the poem “To the Fallen” written by Laurence Binyon at the beginning of World War I. Poppy wreaths were then laid at the base of the memorial.

After the commemoration, everyone was invited inside the Brandon Armoury for cookies and coffee courtesy of the Museum.
